Leo Dolan is an artist who resists classification. After spending his teen years playing in a variety of musical outfits around Bend, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, he released two SoundCloud and BandCamp only EP’s, titled Pedagogy and Color Gradient. Pedagogy was a mix of acoustic songwriting and pop instrumentation, while Color Gradient was a full-on folk project, with only guitar, piano, and violin accompanying Leo’s lyrics. These two musical suites, while being captivating in their own right, really helped to pave the road for the eventual crystallization of Leo’s musical vision. After a relocation from Oregon to Los Angeles, Leo’s style took a sharp left turn as he prepared for the release of his full band, full length album. On The Topic Of Light, out November 13th, 2020, is his official debut, and features a captivating mix of art-pop, electronica, and traditional songwriting As a solo performer and ensemble member, Leo has shared stages with Ariel Pink, Blitzen Trapper, and fellow northwest songwriting greats Jeffery Martin and Anna Tival .
